Dr. Darrell W. Pone
Darrell was born with Cerebral Palsy, a crippling disease brought on by the deprivation of oxygen to the brain at birth. Society looks at people born with Cerebral Palsy as not being able to achieve even as high as the average person. The odds against becoming a doctor made him more determined than ever to realize his dreams. Darrell knew could become Dr.Pone
Dr. Pone graduated from Meharry Medical College and has practiced medicine as a Board Certified Medical Doctor for more than twenty years. He has so inspired others with his determination that he was constantly asked to write a book about his life. We've Come This Far by Faith reveals the keys to success Dr. Pone discovered and used to overcome the obstacles he faced.
Dr. Gloria Nixon Pone
Dr. Nixon Pone was born in West Memphis, Arkansas and has lived in Queens, New York all of her adult life. Her educational achievements include: Pace University Bachelor of Arts Degree in Information Systems, New York Theological Seminary, Master of Professional Studies, Master of Divinity, 2001 and Doctor of Ministry, 2004. Educational certificates include: the Albert Ellis Institute of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy’s, Cognitive Therapy Certificate; York College, City University, New York, Professional Certificate; Long Island Progressive Speakers, Inc.; and Toastmasters International, Able Toastmaster and Area Governor.
Dr. Nixon-Pone is licensed by the United Church of Christ and serves as Associate Pastor at the Congregational Church of South Hempstead. To expand the scope of her work at the church, she has founded the Family Financial Resource Center. Her passion is to teach spiritual principles and practices that will facilitate wealth building through a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
Dr Pone is the author of Fruit of the Spirit – A Legacy to Our Youth. She is married to Darrell W. Pone, MD. of Old Westbury who has recently published his autobiography We’ve Come This Far by Faith.
